Saturday’s the Day!

The verdict is in:  I swim on Saturday!

Dover weather forecast for Saturday:

  • Sunny, with a high of 66 degrees F
  • Winds out of the ENE gusting at 3mph (pretty calm!)
  • Visibility:  poor (<– Eh, well, that’s why they have GPS)
  • Night weather:  clear skies, with a low of 48 degrees F (eep!)

On Sunday the wind picks up to 6-7 mph, up to 9mph on Monday, and Tuesday looks dreadful (15mph winds with grey skies and icky conditions).  So I’m glad to be going tomorrow!

No set departure time yet…I’m meeting Paul this evening to chat about final details.  In the meantime, I’m off for a swim, and then we’re going to run around getting everything ready for tomorrow.

I’m going to swim the English Channel!  AHHHH!!!!  =D

Finally! The day you’ve been training and waiting for!
Just keep in mind: you are well trained, well prepared, you’re fit and determined, so you’re going to make it.
Go and swim that Channel! I’ll be thinking about you tomorrow!

  • Reuben Says:

Good Luck’ and with the sunny weather, calm wind and relatively calm waters are just the terrific conditions that you wanted. All that you trained for has now come to the ‘moment’. I know that you can do it and now, all a matter of how fast. Thinking of you and hoping that the pilot takes you on a course that will do justice for your attempt. You make us all, at the Dolphin Club, proud and with you on each stroke, on each breath and on your English Channel swim.

All the Gaglio’s and the Burke Lane offices wish you a bon voyage! Have fun and do your best.

By the way…where do you keep your passport when you swim?

  • Jay Thomas Says:
